Gary Bartram
Gary Bartram is an intralogistics and automation specialist with more than twenty years’ experience improving the way warehouses move, store, and manage goods. With a background that spans engineering, operations, and solution design, he brings a rare blend of hands‑on technical understanding and strategic insight to modern warehouse automation.
His career began in technical engineering roles, where he built a strong foundation in industrial electronics, equipment behaviour, and warehouse system performance. This early experience shaped his ability to diagnose operational challenges and design solutions that balance engineering feasibility with commercial practicality.
Over the years, Gary has worked across the intralogistics sector in roles that combined technical leadership, solution design, and automation development. He has delivered material‑flow assessments, warehouse layout designs, VNA system configurations, and AGV/AMR concepts for a wide range of operational environments. His work often involves translating complex operational requirements into clear, engineered solutions that improve throughput, reduce manual handling, and support scalable automation.
Gary has also played a key role in developing automation opportunities, supporting colleagues with technical coaching, and guiding customers through the process of evaluating and adopting automated systems. He is known for his ability to communicate technical concepts clearly, build trust with stakeholders, and design solutions that align with long‑term operational goals.
Today, Gary works as an independent consultant, helping organisations modernise their warehouse operations through practical automation strategies, engineered solution design, and material‑flow optimisation.
Outside of work, he is a former national‑level competitive cyclist and an enthusiastic motorcycle tourer — interests that reflect his focus, discipline, and appreciation for technical precision.
